One night I really wanted to escape. I was trying really hard to find a way to escape. I finally found a way to escape. So I headed out. I tried to go fast because my owner might wake up and find me. So I got out but now I had to find a way down the dresser. I climbed down and started leaving the room. I made my way down the stairs (that was the hardest part) and I explored for a while. There was some awesome stuff. It was awesome There was a thing that hols something (because I saw a handle), a thing that had a pattern (I think it is something people sit on according to what I've seen before), and this big, crowded, and flat surface ( it would be impossible to climb). Uh Oh! I was spotted. It was by my owner's brother. Before he could grab me I zoomed downstairs into something they called a guest room. Then my owner spotted me and gave me a carrot (and boy was that carrot good) and that was the end of my freedom

The Two Stories of Gabi's First Day

A Tale of Buying Gabi

One day my dad said I had to go to Home Depot with him and my brother. I really didn't want to go and it was three days before my birthday. All I really wanted was a hamster. My brother has a fish and my dad said we had to buy fish food. I wanted to go look at the hamsters so I did. I was looking at what kind I wanted because about a week before my dad said maybe I could get a hamster. I said "dad can I get a hamster right now?" And he surprised me by saying "yes" So I chose all the stuff for my new hamster and we bought it and left. Then we were going to name my hamster Rosie because my middle name is Rose but I didn't like it and then my brother said what about Gabi and I liked it so we named her Gabi. So that is my tale

A New Owner

One day I was doing my usual stuff at the pet store. I did stuff like eating, drinking, spinning on my wheel, playing with my cage mates, and sleeping. I sleep a lot in the day because I'm nocturnal. Nocturnal means you sleep in the day and are awake at night.

At night you should see me. I'm crazy. I bite on my cage like it's jail and i'm trying to get out. It's hard to control yourself when you're trapped in a cage. All I have to entertain myself is a wheel and a couple little lookout houses.

So as I was saying someone came in the pet store to look at me. I saw the girl look at all the other hamsters. Then finally the girl said I want that one. She was pointing at me. Well let me tell you that scared me right out of my tiny little hamster mind. I would soon have a home.

She chose a nice cage and a hamster ball and purple and blue bedding. She was holding me in a tiny box. I hated that box. So then I started chewing a hole in the box. I almost got out but then they noticed me so they got a second box because they knew I couldn't chew that fast. Then we got in the car and they were going to name me Rosie. It was an okay name. I didn't like it that much. Neither did my owner. Then my owner's brother said what about Gabi. I loved that name and that's what they named me. That is my tale.
